Can I come to live permanently in the UK?

If you are not a British, European Economic Area (EEA), or Swiss national and you wish to settle permanently in the UK, you must qualify under the Immigration Rules, which can be found on the UK Border Agency website and must obtain a visa before you travel to the UK.
